About the Book
Veronica and the Very Noisy Bell
Set in the peaceful green fields of the Austrian Alps, Veronica and the Very Noisy Bell follows Veronica, a thoughtful Swiss Brown cow who is always paying attention.
Around her neck hangs a shiny silver bell that makes a loud CLING-CLANG! wherever she goes. While the other animals sometimes wish it were quieter, Veronica isn’t so sure it’s a problem at all.
When one of her friends finds themselves in trouble, Veronica discovers that the very thing that seems inconvenient might actually be her greatest strength.

Did you know?
Veronica’s story began in the real world! In Austria, high in the mountains, scientists once met a very clever cow who surprised everyone. This cow used tools — like sticks and brooms — to scratch herself in smart ways. She even used different ends of the same broom for different kinds of scratches! The scientists were amazed. They realised that cows might be much smarter than people had thought. Veronica in this book is a make-believe character, but her curiosity and clever thinking were inspired by that real cow. Sometimes, the most amazing ideas come from simply noticing what’s around you. So next time you have a problem, look around. You might already have just the thing you need!

My two kids love it, just ordered the new book
Loved the illustrations, so graphic
I had the kids sitting behind as I read it because they wanted to see the images while I was reading.

Veronica has a problem. A very important problem. She has an itch she just can't reach. While the other animals rub, rush, and give up, Veronica does something different — she stops to think. When she discovers an old broom with two very different ends, Veronica realises that the answer to her problem might already be right in front of her. What begins as a simple scratch soon becomes a clever discovery that helps more than just Veronica. A gentle, funny story about curiosity, problem-solving, and the power of noticing what others miss. Available Worldwide When the animals need help, they shout. And shout. And shout. But the messages don't always get through. Veronica begins to wonder if there's a better way to be heard. With a bell, a rope, and some clever timing, she discovers that clear communication can make all the difference. A story about listening, sharing ideas, and finding your voice. Available Worldwide Veronica loves to help. A muddy blanket? Lost acorns? A hat stuck in a tree? She'll find a way. But when every animal on the farm starts calling her name at once, Veronica discovers that even the cleverest cow can't do everything alone. It takes her friends to remind her of something important — asking for help is just as brave as giving it. A warm, reassuring story about kindness, knowing your limits, and learning that rest isn't giving up — it's how we keep going. Available Worldwide The animals found a wishing well. Every wish would come true. What could possibly go wrong? When the animals discover an old wishing well at the far corner of the farm, they can't believe their luck. One wish each, one at a time — what could be more exciting? But Pip's wish for the biggest mud puddle floods the farmyard. Otto's wish to be the loudest knocks apples from the trees. And when Millie wishes for a mountain of acorns, they pour from the sky like rain. It takes Veronica to remind everyone that wishes are tricky things — and that sometimes the most wonderful things are the ones we already have. A warm, funny story about gratitude, careful thinking, and learning that what we have is often more than enough. Available Worldwide A storm is coming. The animals are afraid. Who will be brave enough to lead them through? Dark clouds gather over the farm. The wind howls, the rain hammers down, and thunder rumbles across the fields. Greta hides her eyes, Otto stamps nervously, and even brave little Liesel begins to shake. It takes Veronica to gather everyone safely into the warm barn. With a quiet song, a soft blanket, and a friend on either side, the animals begin to feel a little less afraid. Veronica reminds them that storms don't last forever — and that being brave doesn't mean not feeling scared. A heartwarming story about courage, comfort, and the gentle bravery of facing big feelings with the friends who love you. Available Worldwide Veronica has never seen the ocean. She has heard it was big. Very, very big. When Ralf the farmer takes the animals to the beach, Greta dashes for the warm sand, Otto trots beside the waves, and Liesel hunts for shells. But Veronica stays back from the water — what if the ocean is too big? It takes a gentle nudge from Liesel and one small step at a time before Veronica discovers something wonderful — the water is warm, the sand is soft, and a tiny wave can tickle a cow's ankles in the loveliest way. A warm, reassuring story about facing new things, taking small brave steps, and finding that with friends beside you, even the biggest adventures feel safe. Available Worldwide
